Image attributes provide a rich matrix of information by which to understand the mind of the consumer. This paper analyzes image attributes for vegetable soup in terms of the fundamental dimensions underlying the attributes (via principal components analysis), and in terms of a functional analysis of the attributes (viz., how they co-vary with sensory dimensions, using uni-variate and multi-variate models). Through the analyses developers and researchers more deeply understands these attributes.
